The fact there was a tree instead of just a Rose was interesting and a nice twist, and the interactions between Belle and the beast when he finally showed up! Beauty casts its own shadow, because it finds its own way to shine.

I liked that part of the story because we really get to know Dokey’s Belle. If only you wait long enough.

There was no build. Belle and the Beast, during a mere 40 pages not a lot because this is a very small bookhave a couple of conversations. During a fierce storm, Belle’s father stumbles upon the mysterious Heartwood—and encounters a terrifying and lonely Beast.

If Belle is the only character who really interests dokry in the story of Beauty and the Beast, then “Belle” is a good story for you. This book was a really good first read for me from author Cameron Dokeu. I’ll definitely hang on to this book and not only for its beautiful cover–there were some beautiful sentences I highlighted as well. But, nevertheless, I still enjoyed Belle.
