Everyone has their own tastes. So I much preferred reading about the police chief falling in love and learning to salsa dance and the police woman who was starting a family. And though this book could easily be read as a stand-alone, there is much to be gained from reading her books in the right order.

I got the following book of the series as a present. Refresh and try again. I enjoyed this one somewhat more lzckberg the previous books. Erica is a crime writer, mother and wife to Detective Patrick Hedstrom.
